34.The RiverofMeribah

The river of life that flowed from Eden

Became the bitter waters of Marah

And a river of quarrel in Meribah.

The world fell into disarray.

The fire of the burning bush

On the day that Moses was called has become

a dim memory.

Thejubilantjoy of exodus

And the song of victory

After crossing the Red Sea can still be heard,

But the tears of Moses by the riverbank of

Meribah are woeful.

The river of Meribah still flows

And our minds are filled with poignant

regrets.

Vacantly gazing with thirst at the hill of

Calvary

Where the Lord carried the redemptive cross.

Who could have known?
