17.The Morning ofChristmas
In the tranquil Christmas morning
I confess my futility to God
Who became a very tiny baby.
O Lord, let me fully depend on You!
Lord, You didn t consider equality with God,
But emptied Yourself!
To You, I empty my pride, lust, greed,
jealousy and my right.
O Lord, fill me full of Your love!
A comfort to the sad
A healer to the sick
A friend to the estranged
A help to the poor
You are the lily in the valley.
0Lord, let me live as the one who stretches
out Your warm hand!
Lord, You were forsaken by God,
You endured the great thirst of the cross.
You even gave us the very last drop of Your blood.
